About Us
Founded in 1909, the DBE is a nonprofit, charitable organization, the beneficiaries of which are three District Homes for people of all nationalities and many local charities around the US. Our membership is comprised of a diverse group of women from many different backgrounds, but with common heritage and ancestry. It is the source of close and long-term friendships.

DBE in Northern California fundraises to support the British Home in Sierra Madre, California. Members of DBE in Northern California help this Home, both financially through fundraisers and in friendship.
Local Chapters can choose to “adopt” a resident in the British Home and send letters and greeting cards to them and visit with them when attending events at the Home.
