I was born in Stockton, California. I graduated from San Joaquin Delta College (CA) with A.A's in Early Childhood Education and Liberal Studies; Sacramento City College (CA) with an A.S. in Library & Information Technology; Sacramento State University (CA) with a B.A. in English and a concentration in fiction, and a minor in ASL/Deaf Studies, and Emporia State University (KS) with a MLS (Masters of Library Science).

I am a third generation DBE member; my grandmother, Patricia Gilman was a member of the Golden Hinde Chapter, and my mother, Barbara Bahler is a member of Heritage Chapter. I am a member of Hertiage Chapter, and I'm the Social Media Coordinator. I was the National Communications Secretary for the 33rd Administration.

I work full time as a librarian at a private university, and am an active member of Toastmasters.
