Born in Mancot, Wales was raised and educated in Saltney and Shotton, Wales. I attended the University of Chester, England and took additional Accounting courses at Golden Gate University, San Francisco, CA
In 1961 I married Patrick Sweetman and we have been happily married for 58 years, have one son, two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
We emigrated to Greensburg, Indiana, U.S.A. in 1965, moved to Montgomery, Alabama in December 1973 and then moved to California in June 1974 where I still live.
I originally joined the Sir Francis Drake Chapter, San Francisco in 1990 and after moving to Elk Grove, joined the Shakespeare Chapter where from 2005-2016 , I served as Chapter Treasurer and Vice Regent. In 2010, I joined the DBE Northern California State Board as State Treasurer until 2016.
In 2016, I was elected National Treasurer, where I served from 2016-May 2019. This was an enjoyable time and I got to know a lot of the Treasurers from the different States and made a lot of new friends. In May 2019, I was asked to take over as State Treasurer, since the prior Treasurer retired.
